The science behind CBD is in the relatively early stages. As a cannabinoid, we know that CBD interacts with receptors in your endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is integrated throughout your body — and this widespread, whole-body interaction creates a broad range of effects. Hence, the long list of possible benefits.   We may still be in the early stages of discovery, but there’s plenty of scientific studies and anecdotal evidence that CBD provides relief for an array of ailments. Here’s a non-exhaustive list of some potential benefits of CBD oil:

Acne can have a very devastating impact on certain people. Acne can actually lower one’s self esteem and confidence. The good news is that recent research studies have shown that CBD oil can be a great way of treating acne. A recent research study by Journal of Clinical Investigations revealed that CBD oil helps to in lowering production of sebum which leads to acne. This is because CBD oil decreases the lipid synthesis and the proliferation of sebaceous glands, and also has anti inflammatory effects on the sebaceous glands, therefore delivering a therapeutic agent for treatment of acne.

In May of 2017, the Texas Commissioner of the Department of State Health Services, Dr. John Hellerstedt, ordered "that the substance Marijuana Extract, meaning an extract containing on or more cannabinoids that has been derived from any plant of the genus Cannabis, other than the separated resin (whether crude or purified) obtained from the plant) into Schedule I.

Californians also have to take into consideration Prop 65. This proposition requires that businesses refrain from knowingly and intentionally exposing individuals to any of the chemicals contained in a state-published list of chemicals which are known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. This, among many other factors, is why HempMeds adheres to the Triple Lab Tested® Standard. We believe in a common sense approach where safety and knowing what goes into your body is of utmost importance.
Research on CBD and anxiety has generally looked at cannabis as a whole product, not as CBD as a standalone compound. Some studies suggest that it can help with anxiety: like this 2011 study that suggests CBDcan reduce social anxiety or this 2015 review that says CBD could be promising for many forms of anxiety. It’s also important to consider whether the CBD comes from the cannabis plant and therefore may include THC, a cannabinoid that for some, induces anxiety. CBD oil has gained the most traction among the general public for its ability to treat psychiatric conditions like anxiety and addiction. According to Ananda Hemp’s website, it’s something of a trailblazer in the CBD world, for it possesses what it maintains to be the U.S.’ first officially authorized hemp farm. Ananda Hemp also claims to be the earliest business to have legally imported its own hemp seeds – taken from what is said to be the most extensive privately owned cannabis seed bank in the world. This, the company says, “stands in contrast to many of [its] competitors, who are sourcing questionable, non-certified and untraceable CBD sources.” In any case, people who wish to see how Ananda Hemp’s process impacts on its products can see for themselves by using its full-spectrum extracts, softgels and topical salve. Those goods have themselves, it seems, been through the testing process a minimum of three times to ensure that their levels of potency live up to what’s written on the labels.
The human body also produces cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids, in a bodily system known as the endocannabinoid system (or ECS). The ECS promotes homeostasis by regulating a wide range of functions, including motor skills, mood, appetite, and sleep. As we age, our ECS produces fewer endocannabinoids; they may also decrease due to physical injury or disease. Replenishing depleted endocannabinoids with phytocannabinoids like CBD can help restore balance to the body.
A study published in 1986 in the International Journal of Neuroscience, examined the effects of CBD oil in 5 patients with dystonic movement disorders (muscle tremors and other forms of uncontrollable movements). CBD oil’s side effects “were mild and included hypotension [low blood pressure], dry mouth, psychomotor slowing [slowed thoughts or movements], lightheadedness, and sedation,” according to the study’s authors, Paul Consroe, Reuven Sandyk and Stuart R. Snider.
Instances of PTSD (abbreviation for Post Traumatic Stress Disorders), have been on the rise in recent years. It is something which many veterans come home with after serving many years over seas, and is also be found in people who have been through severe trauma. The condition can make people go to extremes, and can even make some take their own lives. If you are suffering from PTSD, the good news is that CBD oil can be of help. CBD oil is well known to produce anti anxiety and anti-inflammatory effects. After it is ingested, it actually slows everything down and induces a calming feeling.

Cannabis oil and CBD have similarities but some important differences for users. Both are cannabinoids that can be found in all cannabis plants including hemp and marijuana. Cannabinoids are the substances secreted by the flowers of the cannabis plant and contain natural medicinal properties, offering relief from conditions including anxiety, pain, nausea, and inflammation.
A few years ago it was still believed that CBD has no side effects. Well, at least no negative ones, because CBD works in many ways and the side effects that it had were always good ones. In the sense of, “I use CBD for something specific and as a side effect it also helps with something else. But over the years of studies (though there are still too few of them) and experience, a few side effects have been identified. But do not worry, these are not life-threatening side effects. Now let’s look at the toxicity of CBD, the possible side effects, and the safety of CBD.

In general, the majority of people end up using higher-strength products for pain than they would for things like anxiety, stress, or depression. The majority of today’s best CBD oil manufacturers offer tinctures in three different “potencies,” usually in 100, 300, or 600 mg options. Many people start on a middle ground with a 300 mg option, and work your way up from there, but it is extremely important to consult with the brand you are purchasing from before consumption.

An NBC 5 investigation first brought the prosecution of CBD oil in Tarrant County to light. In an interview with NBC 5, the Tarrant County First Assistant District Attorney said Tarrant County is "going to enforce the law." When he says that any amount of CBD oil is illegal - and a misdemeanor offense if it does not contain THC - the law he is referring to is not one passed by Texas legislators. Texas legislators have not specifically made cannibidiol a controlled substance. A medical doctor, who serves as the DSHS Commissioner, added cannibidiol to the list of controlled substances.
And now, onto the thorny issue of legality. The simple answer to the question is yes — if it is extracted from hemp. The 2014 Farm Bill established guidelines for growing hemp in the U.S. legally. This so-called “industrial hemp” refers to both hemp and hemp products which come from cannabis plants with less than 0.3 percent THC and are grown by a state-licensed farmer.
